Dallas Cowboys Defensive Pro Bowlers

Demarcus Lawrence, Defensive End

Where would the Cowboys’ defense be without the play of DeMarcus Lawrence? While he is not the most talked-about defender, he is still very important. Lawrence has 44 total tackles, six sacks, and eight tackles for loss this season, but his play in the run game has made the biggest impact on the defense.

The biggest weakness for the Dallas defense has been their inability to stop the run, so the continued elite play of Lawrence in that area is crucial. While his counting stats, like sacks and tackles for loss, are not amongst the league’s best, if the genuine best edge defenders are elected to the Pro Bowl, “Tank” should be one of them.

Micah Parsons, Linebacker

Parsons and the Pro Bowl is a match made in Lock Heaven. He is the best defensive player in the NFL and is near the top of the sacks leaderboard as a non-DE. No player in the league can influence a game from multiple spots like Parsons. The 23-year-old has taken his game to another level this season after winning Defensive Rookie of the Year last year.

When it comes to getting after the quarterback, no one is better than the former first-round pick. Parsons has 41 pressures on the season, which is tied for first in the NFL. His speed and strength make him a terror for opposing offensive tackles. He is a sure thing for the Pro Bowl, but the Defensive Player of the Year award is also well within reach.

Trevon Diggs, Cornerback

Last season, all the negative talk around cornerback Trevon Diggs was about how many yards he gave up. But, this year, you can only hear whispers about Diggs. That is because he is playing at an elite level once again in 2022. The 25-year-old is not intercepting passes at the rate he did last year (only three this season) but his coverage has been phenomenal.

His recent performance against one of the best wide receivers in the NFL was incredible. Diggs held Vikings WR Justin Jefferson to two catches for 19 yards. Opposing teams are no longer throwing at Diggs. But, when they do, he usually makes them pay. Look for Diggs to continue his spectacular play and reel in some more interceptions as the season continues.

Honorable Mention: Donovan Wilson, Dorance Armstrong, Jayron Kearse
