3. The Cowboys’ run game should thrive

One bit of bad news for this game: Ezekiel Elliott may need to sit this game out after suffering a knee injury last week against the Lions. It has become an expectation that Zeke will be out for the game, but regardless, the offense should be okay.

The Bears’ defense had a loss of their own, coming in the form of trading one of their highest-profile players in former Cowboy Robert Quinn. He wasn’t having the most productive year, but seeing him go to the Philadelphia Eagles was a bit of a stinger.

Despite the move, the Bears had and still have one of the worst run defenses in the NFL. They are currently tied with the Seattle Seahawks for the most rushing yards allowed through Week 7 with 1,048. They’ve also allowed the third-most rushing touchdowns in the league with 10.

With Tony Pollard slated to start, this will be a huge advantage for the Cowboys. Pollard is one of the most explosive and efficient players in the NFL with the ball in his hands, averaging 6.2 yards per touch in 2022. Assuming the Cowboys don’t get down early in this one, the run game should be leaned upon once again and thrive against one of the worst run defenses in the NFL.
