4. Dante Fowler has been the best free agent addition for the Cowboys this season

This may be considered bold, especially with another player that was added that will be talked about later, but the Cowboys’ pass rush has been really good to start the season. A large part of that is because of the addition of Dante Fowler.

Fowler just had yet another solid outing against the Commanders on Sunday, recording two tackles, a sack, and two tackles for loss. After playing just 16% of the defensive snaps in Week 1, the pass-rusher has had three straight good games, racking up two sacks, three tackles for loss, a forced fumble, and a pass defended.

While the team didn’t bring in many outside free agents, Fowler still has stuck out as the best of a bunch that includes Anthony Barr, Brett Maher, and James Washington. He has a history of thriving while not being the lead defensive end, and that pattern is continuing with him coming off the edge with DeMarcus Lawrence and Micah Parsons leading the way.
