Cowboys vs Giants: “Under the Radar” Players

Dallas Cowboys: Jake Ferguson & Peyton Hendershot, TE

New York Giants: Kadarius Toney, WR

Unfortunately, Dallas may be without starting tight end Dalton Schultz on Monday night. Schultz’s MRI did not reveal any significant damage which is a welcome sight but he still may miss some time.

The ‘Boys luckily invested in a rookie tight end combo of Jake Ferguson and Peyton Hendershot that will be called upon. The two have played well throughout training camp and preseason games.

In the preseason, the duo combined for 13 catches, 128 yards, and a touchdown. Their ability to be a comfort blanket for Rush this week will be extremely important. To have a good game doesn’t mean these two need to explode for a stat sheet stuffer, but rather be consistent and move the chains a few times. One of them finds the end zone this week to get their first career touchdown.

Last year, I also predicted Kadarius Toney to have a big game in these team’s first matchup. All he did was put up 10 catches for 189 yards. This year, Toney has just two receptions for a net of zero yards in what feels extremely shocking given his explosiveness.

Giants head coach Brian Daboll is coming from Buffalo where he ran an explosive offense and is too good to not get his key players involved. Someone as talented as Toney only stays stagnant for so long. The Dallas defensive backs will have their hands full with him on Monday night.
