Finding an above-average, reliable, and durable center in this league is not easy. The Cowboys know that all too well. With several rookies expected to make an impact on this offensive line, bringing in some veteran talent to either give Tyler Biadasz a run for his money or just outright replace him is not a bad choice. The Dallas offensive line cannot afford to have any more positional question marks.

Tretter has eight years of NFL experience and has started in 16 games in every one of his last five seasons with the Browns. On a team that desperately needs to keep its quarterback upright, Tretter’s expertise should be a welcome addition.

Cleveland releasing Tretter had more to do with financial issues than his level of play. His 78.7 PFF grade was the fifth-highest amongst the entire Browns roster. The center also allowed just one sack on over 1,039 snaps. If the Cowboys don’t trust Biadasz, they need to find someone they can trust.
