For an undrafted free agent out of Ouachita Baptist to be a Hall of Famer, 6x Pro Bowler, 3x All-Pro, and 2x Super Bowl champion is nothing short of amazing. Harris played all 10 years of his professional career with Dallas and is now a member of the Ring of Honor.

The Hall of Famer was an immediate contributor for Dallas and excelled at safety. He had at least two interceptions in each of his NFL seasons and helped take the Cowboys to five Super Bowls and win two.

The UDFA would initially beat out third-round pick Charlie Waters for the starting free safety position. Eventually, the two would pair up to be one of the best starting safeties pairs in the league.

Harris was selected to the NFL 1970’s All-Decade Team and was named as the free safety for Sports Illustrated’s Football Dream Team.
