2. Micah Parsons, Defensive Player of the Year

After finishing second in Defensive Player of the Year voting in his rookie season, Parsons is expected to make another run at the award in 2022. But, this year I expect him to win the award. Not only will he continue to be great as an off-ball linebacker, but he should be in line for another 10+ sacks this year.

Last season, Parsons recorded 84 total tackles, 13 sacks, and 20 tackles for loss. There is a good chance he will improve on all of these numbers after having a full season under his belt. The Cowboys realize Parsons is a special pass-rusher, so expect to see him sent after opposing QBs plenty in 2022.

This is one of the toughest awards in the league to win because there are so many good defensive players in the league. But, the versatility of Parsons should set him apart from the rest of the league. It took T.J. Watt tying the all-time sack record to win the award over Parsons. Assuming no crazy statistical feat is achieved in 2022, the second-year star will be in a great position to add to his trophy case.
