1. La’el Collins, OT, Cincinnati Bengals

Awuzie isn’t the only Bengal who has marked his calendar for Week 2. In a league where it’s tough to find great offensive lineman, Collins is one. Many Cowboys fans shared that they weren’t upset about Collins leaving the team because of his off-the-field issues and penalties. Others were worried about how the Cowboys would fill the gap.

As of now, the only thing they’ve done to replace that vacancy is hope that first-round pick Tyler Smith will be ready to take on a starting OL role by September. Like Dallas, Cincinnati had a pressing need for help at the offensive line. As soon as they heard that Dallas was designating Collins a post-June 1 cut, the Bengals had the tackle on a flight to Cincy the next day. Arguably, the Bengals front was the biggest thing that kept them from a Super Bowl win. In a matter of days, Collins went from a necessity to the Cowboys to a Bengal.

Collins spent the first six years of his career with Dallas and has a lot of history with the organization. Heading back to AT&T Stadium in orange and black will likely be emotional for him. But the offensive tackle is the kind of guy who will have no issue putting that behind him and getting to his mauler ways once he hits the turf, especially with the idea that he was a cap casualty in the back of his mind.

While the OT has surely shown appreciation for the Cowboys organization, he hasn’t been shy about his excitement for his new team. He told reporters that he felt he had a better chance to win championships in Cincy than he did in Dallas. When asked about facing his former team, his response was kind, yet to the point.

"“So, for me anything that’s not orange and don’t have those stripes on them when it comes game day, then at the end of the day if you’re in the way, you’ve got to get moved out of the way. That’s just the bottom line.”"

It will be interesting to see how the Cowboys’ defensive front handles a newly revamped Bengals O-Line in Week 2.
