6. Sixth-Round (193rd overall)- Devin Harper, Linebacker, Oklahoma State

Grade: B

With their final pick of the draft, the Cowboys select Devin Harper from Oklahoma State. Harper is more of a special teams pick than someone that will be able to contribute as a linebacker right away.

Harper is a high traits player with good speed and explosiveness. So adding him in the sixth round was a good pick due to the upside. Harper was one of the Cowboys’ 30 visits, so again, it is no surprise to see him in Dallas.

Another elite athlete heads to Dallas with the hope that he can eventually develop into a starter at linebacker. Overall, Cowboys fans should be happy with what the Cowboys did on Day 3. They continued to address needs and added a bunch of really good athletes. Now, it is all on the coaching staff to help develop these young players and turn them into contributors.

Dallas Cowboys Overall Draft Grade: B

The draft started off a little shaky by selecting a project player in Tyler Smith in the first round, especially with plenty of plug-and-play starters still available. But, after that, the Cowboys seemingly went with a bunch of high motor athletes that should make an impact in year one.

Ultimately, the class will be graded on how well Smith, Sam Williams, and Jalen Tolbert perform. You have to hit on those premium picks especially when the front office does nothing in free agency. Some fans may be pessimistic about this class, but we will see how the players play when the season comes and that is all that matters.
