2. The Eagles Sign Haason Reddick

Philadelphia has made a lot of questionable decisions this offseason. They cut Fletcher Cox, a defender who is arguably past his prime, only to re-sign him. They re-signed guys like Greg Ward and Anthony Harris who didn’t do very much to help the team.

However, one move will certainly help their defense. The Eagles signed veteran linebacker Haason Reddick to a three-year deal worth $45 million. Reddick spent his first four years in the NFL with the Arizona Cardinals and 2021 with the Carolina Panthers. In five years, he’s collected 31.0 sacks, 323 total tackles, 45 tackles for loss, and 50 QB hits.

Philly’s pass rush was the second-worst in the league last year and will certainly benefit from this much-needed boost.  At 27 years old, Reddick led the Panthers with 11 sacks and tied for the team lead in QB hits with 18. Plus, signing with the Eagles gives the linebacker a chance to return home. Reddick is a Camden, New Jersey native who played collegiate football at Temple.

What a concept to search the market for an external free agent to fill positional needs! Are you reading this Jerry and Stephen Jones?
