4. Trevon Diggs

Stats: 52 tackles, 11 interceptions, 2 pick-sixes, 21 pass-deflections

Now, you’re lying if you say you saw this coming from Trevon Diggs. 11 interceptions in a year?! Just reading that is pure insanity in today’s game. People like to take away from Diggs’s season because he either made the homerun play or gave it up. However, you can’t take away the impact of all those turnovers forced. Interceptions aren’t just a number on a paper. They are a confidence blow to an offense. It throws teams off their game.

Fans get it wrong, thinking to be a good cornerback, you have to lock down the opposing receiver. There is more to being a cornerback than just that. You can argue one is more important than the other, however, only interceptions guarantee taking the ball away from the opponent and giving it to your offense.

Diggs even created offense on his own. His two pick-sixes this season helped win the Cowboys games, as shown in the tweet below.

The former second-round pick arguably was the most improved defensive player this season, and he may just be getting started. He’s slated to start alongside second-year cornerback Kelvin Joseph, barring any major acquisitions through free agency or the draft.
