Cowboys WR CeeDee Lamb 2021 Report Card:

Receiving Yards: A- (90)

Touchdowns: B (85)

Reliability: C+ (79)

Final Grade: B (85)

In training camp before the 2021 season, Lamb was looking like he would take an All-Pro level jump in his second season. Day after day, the Cowboys beat writers out in Oxnard, California, were saying Lamb could sit for the rest of training camp because he was already in mid-season form. He was that good. No one could defend him, creating inflated expectations for the young star.

Unfortunately, Lamb never showed the same dominance on display in training camp. His best game of the season came against the New England Patriots, where Lamb had nine receptions for 149 yards and two touchdowns. After that, he had one more 112 yard game against the Minnesota Vikings and then another two-touchdown performance at home versus the Atlanta Falcons.

Besides those two games, Lamb was a non-factor in the Kellen Moore offense. Part of that could be due to play calling, but Lamb never seemed 100% after coming back from a concussion he sustained against the Kansas City Chiefs. The young receiver did not score a touchdown and had four drops from Week 11 to the playoff game against the San Francisco 49ers. In his career first playoff game, offensive coordinator Kellen Moore did not get Lamb enough touches, and he ended with one catch for 21 yards.

Looking at where his season began to where it ended, it was not what fans were expecting out of Lamb. However, he did still reach the 1,000-yard mark (79 catches, 1,102 yards 6 total touchdowns) in just his second season, which is still an impressive accomplishment. So far, Lamb has gotten better each season. He was even used more as a gadget player in jet sweeps and as a running back which can be exciting for the future

Now that receiver Cooper is out of the picture after the trade, the young gun slides into the No. 1 option for Prescott. If he can take advantage of the opportunity, he can become the star Dallas expected him to be and help bump his grade a lot next season.
