2. Nahshon Wright, CB

Nahshon Wright was a third-round selection out of Oregon State. While in the PAC 12, he led his team in interceptions. He was touted for his length and athleticism in the air. Wright played in 13 games this year and started one. He played most of his snaps with special teams but also took a good amount of defensive snaps.

We expect that with a second-year under Dan Quinn, Wright will continue to improve. He will definitely see more snaps on special teams and can show his worth in the organization. Right now, Trevon Diggs is the only solid cornerback the Cowboys have. Anthony Brown was often burned and gave up a ton of penalties. Kelvin Joseph and Jourdan Lewis are still young and fresh.

With a strong offseason and preseason, Wright can make himself a key piece of the Cowboys’ defense and special teams. Sean Martin of Blogging the Boys also believes that Wright’s length could lead Dallas to use him as a safety, a position that is very thin for the Cowboys.

It’s unlikely that Wright becomes a steady starter, but he can definitely prove himself to be worthy of snaps behind the other cornerbacks on this roster.
