Quentin Lake, Safety

Height:  6’1 Weight: 205lbs

Draft Projection: Day 3

Career Stats: 179 total tackles, 4 tackles for loss, 6 interceptions, 15 passes defended

Similar to their situation at receiver, the Cowboys are set to have three safeties hit free agency. We aren’t sure if any will be returning just yet. They are also in need of a true center fielder on the back end of this defense with the ability to cover ground quickly and wisely as well. Sometimes with safeties, you’ll get one or the other, Quentin Lake is someone who really can cover ground, is effective at playing center field, and doesn’t give up big plays.

He’s been coached by his father, former Pittsburgh Steeler Carnell Lake. The pedigree and knowledge his father has given him have worked out pretty well for Lake. Sadly, he still isn’t getting much attention ahead of the draft yet, but that’s something that could soon change at the NFL Combine. Let us know how you feel about these UCLA prospects!
