1. Neil Farrell, Defensive Tackle

Height: 6’4   Weight: 319lbs

Draft Projection: Day Two

Career Stats: 143 total tackles, 22 tackles for loss, 7.5 sacks, 4 passes defended, 1 forced fumble

It seems like every season Dallas is in need of a run-stopping defensive tackle, and they constantly wait until the end of the draft or free agency to bring in those big bodies. Neil Farrell could make them change their philosophy in 2022.

When Farrell is focused, he can be a problem in the running game for opposing teams. He uses his size well and is able to keep linebackers clean in order to make plays on ball carriers. The Tiger is also strong enough to shed blockers and make plays himself. Pairing him with last year’s draft pick in Quinton Bohanna would form a nice duo that can stop early-down runs.

Farrell isn’t going to give you much in terms of a pass rush as his get-off isn’t the quickest, but that’s not what he would be used for if drafted by the Cowboys. Dallas needs big bodies up front to clog up running lanes, and Farrell is a perfect candidate. He will have to be taken early in order to secure his services.
