1. Tariq Castro-Fields, Cornerback

Height 6’0, Weight 198lbs

Draft Projection: Day 3

Career Stats: 139 total tackles, 10 tackles for loss, 1 sack, 25 passes defended, 3 interceptions, 1 forced fumble

The last player on this list is someone that has been a mainstay for the Nittany Lions’ secondary, cornerback Castro-Fields. He is someone that could fall in the draft thanks to a deep cornerback class in this draft.

He knows how to play with leverage, and for a cornerback to understand that coming out of college is a very good thing. In the league today, quarterbacks love to pick on young cornerbacks with their impressive throwing ability. Castro-Fields has the speed to keep up with receivers downfield and is also an aggressive tackler in the running game.

However, he is someone who doesn’t play his best when playing in man compared to zone, so that would be something he would need to work on. But, as a later-round pick, the Cowboys would be able to develop him or transition him to safety where his skills can be better put to use.

Drafting from Penn State proved to be a blessing for the Cowboys last year. Will they pull from the Nittany Lions again this year?
