Daxton Hill, Safety, Michigan

With Jayron Kearse, Malik Hooker, and Damontae Kazee all set to hit free agency, the Cowboys will need to look for another safety. Daxton Hill from the University of Michigan is a great athlete that thrives in coverage and has the potential to be one of the great safeties in the league.

He can play as a free safety or nickel cornerback and would fit into Dallas’ defense in either spot. Hill is also not afraid to play near the line of scrimmage and tackle. If the Cowboys decide not to re-sign Kearse, they could select Hill to fill his role.

Hill even clocked a 4.27 40-yard dash time, which is the type of elite speed we do not often see in a safety. Hill has projections from late first-round to early second-round and he will most likely be on the board when the Cowboys select.

If the Cowboys do indeed want to go with a secondary draft choice, I would expect Hill to be at the top of their draft board.
