1. Nakobe Dean, Linebacker, Georgia

I assume you are starting to catch the drift of Georgia defensive players being top draft choices. Well, that is because Georgia had one of the best defenses in the past decade. Over a 15-game season, they gave up an average of 10.2 points per game.

The leader of that defense was linebacker Nakobe Dean. Dean was the best linebacker in college football this season, winning the Butkus Award. His stats include 76 total tackles, six sacks, two forced fumbles, and two interceptions.

Dean would be a perfect fit next to last season’s first-round pick, Micah Parsons. That pairing would give the Cowboys the fastest, most explosive linebackers in the NFL and immediately upgrade both the run-defense and pass-rush.

Dean is a sideline to sideline linebacker that has a very high football IQ. Continuing to address the defense and finding playmakers should be the Cowboys’ number one priority in the draft and Nakobe Dean is a player that would fit the bill.

There are many things up in the air ahead of the draft with Pro Days and other elements soon to come. The good news is, with tons of mock drafts hitting the internet preemptively, all five of these players have fallen to the Cowboys in at least one mock draft. The hope is that the same happens when Draft Day comes in April. Only time will tell!
