1. Cedrick Wilson is fantastic

Cedrick Wilson is the epitome of the kind of guy you want on your team. He isn’t the star player. He isn’t the most talked-about guy in the media. But, regardless of all of that, he steps up when you need him. When Gallup went down in Week 1 with an ankle injury, Wilson was there. He was a trustworthy target and helped the Cowboys remain victorious.

When Gallup went down again with an ACL tear in Week 17, Wilson wasted no time stepping up once again. Against the Eagles, Wilson led the receiving corps. He ended Week 18 with five receptions, two touchdowns, and 119 yards.

Wilson’s second touchdown meant that Dallas scored 11 straight touchdowns on red zone opportunities. That’s a huge turnaround for a team whose offense couldn’t seem to do much of anything for a couple of weeks. His second touchdown also marked the second multi-touchdown game of the receiver’s career.

We have been talking so much about whether the Cowboys should or shouldn’t resign Gallup. Meanwhile, Wilson is proving that he deserves a nice paycheck, too. Whether you were for or against playing the starters, you have to admit that knowing that Prescott has clearly found his rhythm with Wilson heading into the playoffs is a huge plus. Let’s hope that rhythm continues to make music in the playoffs.

No matter who the Cowboys end up facing next week, it will be a challenge. There is a lot of talent at the top of the NFC. But, this game proved that there are players to be excited about and several key weapons that any team will need to be worried about. Bring on the postseason!
