3. Madden talks deli sandwiches during a Sunday Night Football broadcast

Apparently, Madden was a big fan of Coppell Deli, a local deli in Coppell, TX, that named sandwiches after Cowboys players. Looking to kill a little time on a Sunday Night Football Cowboys vs Giants game, Madden and Al Michaels decided to talk about sandwiches.

Michaels proclaims that the deli’s bacon, sausage, egg, and cheese sandwich on Texas toast was Madden’s favorite meal. Michaels even asks if Madden would have it as his last meal. Madden said, “it comes close.”

The sandwich is named after Dan Stubbs – the “Stubbs Sandwich.”

Madden said whenever he comes to Dallas, he has to have one. He also said the Cowboys had them in their quarterback meetings.
