Drafting a wide receiver was not a glaring need, at least, so it seemed. The Cowboys decided to add a wideout that is six feet and four inches tall. In the fifth, round they drafted Stanford product Simi Fehoko.

For a player as big as he is, Fehoko has scary speed. He ran a 4.44 40-yard dash and showed off his agility with his 6.78-second three-cone. The wideout has the physical traits to succeed in the NFL, represented by his 9.17 RAS rating.

He played well in the Pac-12 Conference, racking up 1,140 yards and nine touchdowns in 15 games the past two seasons. That includes averaging 23.6 yards per reception in 2019. His 2020 season was his best, receiving first-team All Pac-12 honors for averaging 96 yards and 0.5 touchdowns per game.

The Dallas Cowboys could use a wide receiver with a big frame. It is the red-zone threat they have missed since the departure of Dez Bryant. Simi Fehoko’s speed and big-play ability mean he can develop into more than just a red-zone threat and a possible replacement for wideout Michael Gallup.
