Cowboys find Sean Lee replacement in three-round mock draft 5.0
• Height/Weight: 6-2, 195 lbs.
• Round 3, Pick 35
Finally, the Dallas Cowboys draw up a cornerback. The team drafts Robert Rochell with the 99th overall pick in the third round.
Rochelle is from Shreveport, LA. He played four seasons with the Central Arkansas Bears.
Numbers, please?
Rochell finished his college career with 10 interceptions, three forced fumbles, three pass deflections, and 18 tackles. In 2019 alone, he grabbed five picks.
In 2019, he earned the first-team All-Southland award. On his pro day, he ran a 4.41 in the 40-yard dash.
No Surtain, no problem?
Surtain is a lock to become a great football player. Rochell has a lot of upsides, but he is no Surtain. Well, not right away that is.
The cornerback will need some time. If the Cowboys do land Rochell, it’ll be interesting to see what defensive coordinator Dan Quinn can do with this rookie.
Overall, I would have loved to grab Surtain in the first round. Parsons is still a great pick-up, so I am not angry.
The Cowboys will need to pick up another cornerback in the later picks if this scenario happens. Free agency is also another option. Richard Sherman?
