Is help along both fronts the Cowboys biggest need?

The Dallas Cowboys have a lot to think about this offseason. While getting Dak Prescott back into the fold, getting Dan Quinn acclimated, and wondering whether Kellen Moore will leave for a head coaching job are enough to bounce around, they also have to think about making the team better.

With the showing that the Cowboys gave this past season, that will be a lot to think about. While all that other stuff, plus quite a bit more, will be time-consuming enough, they also have a very pressing need to address that needs to be at the top of their to-do list.

Well, there are actually two if you want to be technical. They would be the offensive and defensive lines.

They were both below average this season, while the defensive line was poor at best. Two of the guys along that front that were brought in last offseason that were supposedly “big names” were sent away before the middle of the season rolled around.

The Dallas Cowboys need to address both fronts immediately

This came after they were praised as great signings and ones that could help the Cowboys defensive front be a dominant one, yes, by me included. The offensive line was a victim of attrition, injury, and inexperience.

Tyron Smith only played two games this past season, while La’el Collins never played a game after hip surgery early in the year. They were forced to rely on a hodgepodge of lineman throughout the year that featured an undrafted rookie in Terence Steele.

Needless to say, the Dallas Cowboys need to focus all of their best available resources towards addressing both fronts. If you can’t get to the quarterback or stop the run, at least some of the time, you aren’t going to win that many games.

We saw what that can look like this past season. If you aren’t going to make space for runners or keep your quarterback upright, then that won’t turn out too well either for your team.

We also saw a bit of that this past season. That’s why I just had to be sure that we are all one accord about this. Both fronts, the offensive and defensive lines, are all of the team’s biggest needs and concerns, right?
