DE – DeMarcus Lawrence

Here comes your history lesson for the week. The US Army only employs one tank in the Army and that is the M1A1 Abrams. There are many other tracked vehicles that look like a tank but there is only one.

Just like the US Army, DeMarcus “Tank” Lawrence is the only tank in the Dallas Cowboys arsenal. many have been critical of him lately, which includes me, but he has played very good football as of late and has apparently shrugged off the injury that limited him earlier in the season.

Stats vary from week to week but statistically, Tank has been a top-three edge pressure player up to this point in the season. There is no doubt in my mind that Lawrence has played good enough to earn his third Pro Bowl selection.

Although his five sacks and two forced fumbles aren’t monster numbers, his 90.2 overall grade from Pro Football Focus shows that his impact has been greater than his statistical numbers. This has been an issue in the past for certain players but I expect his name to be called as an initial Pro Bowl selection.
