Cowboys at Rams: 3 matchups to watch in Week 1

Robert Woods, Cooper Kupp vs. Cowboys secondary
Neither Woods nor Kupp is what you would consider a “number one” receiver. By no means does this mean that they do not require your attention or respect.
Woods is coming off back-to-back seasons with 85+ receptions and 1,100+ yards. Kupp, meanwhile, finished 2019 with 94 catches, 1,161 yards, and 10 touchdowns. He is one of the premier slot receivers in the NFL today.
Opposite of them is a retooled Dallas Cowboys secondary that is young, talented and needing to prove themselves. Gone is Pro-Bowl cornerback Byron Jones. In his place is rookie second-round pick, Trevon Diggs. On the other side is Anthony Brown, who missed seven games last season due to a torn triceps. Then there is Chidobe Awuzie.
Awuzie showed tons of potential two years ago during his rookie campaign. To say 2019 was a sophomore slump would be quite the understatement. Awuzie lost his starting job, not to mention his confidence.
Awuzie is not listed as the starter this year either. For the most part, that seems due to Diggs superior play in camp. Still, Dallas will need the 2018 version of Awuzie and not last years in order to be successful against the Rams unheralded duo. If both Woods and Kupp go over the 100-yard mark, Dallas will head back home 0-1.
The Cowboys trio can get a lot of help in this regard from the third key matchup …
