3. It Takes Six to Tango

The Dallas Cowboys franchise is sixty years old. Yes, once they take the field this Sunday night, we’ll be celebrating more than just an American past time. We come together again to celebrate our team, an institution standing since 1960.

Sixty years. Five titles. It’s time for the Dallas Cowboys to reach for their sixth, and what better way to do this with a new decade of football, with a fresh head coach and new internal staff.

Sure, you can blame me for being drunk on hope. But when was the last time the Dallas Cowboys booted a season without a guy named Jason Garrett on their team roster or coaching staff?

For goodness sake, let me have this moment. In 2007, the Dallas Cowboys hired Wade Phillips as the head honcho. If you recall, the ‘Boys hired Garrett before they even hired Phillips. So, you have to travel back to the 2006 season to recall when the Dallas Cowboys didn’t have Garrett around.

This isn’t a bash on Garrett (okay, maybe a little). But, after 10 seasons, 85 wins and 67 losses, the Cowboys get change. I’m going to enjoy the fresh air. I dare you to do the same.

Prediction time! Dallas Cowboys 34, Los Angeles Rams 20.
