Cowboys 60th Anniversary All-Time team prediction (players 20-1)

20. Lee Roy Jordan – LB, 1963-1976

Jordan was definitely ahead of his time as a do-it-all linebacker with a proclivity for pass defense. Twice, Jordan intercepted six passes in a season and is still in the top seven in franchise history with 32 total picks.

19. Bob Hayes – WR, 1965-1974
18. Ed “Too Tall” Jones – DT, 1974-1989
17. Zack Martin – G, 2014-present
16. Rayfield Wright – T, 1967-1979
15. Chuck Howley – LB, 1961-1973
14. Darren Woodson – S, 1992-2003
13. Tony Dorsett – RB, 1977-1987
12. DeMarcus Ware – LB, 2005-2013
11. Cornell Green – DB, 1962-1974

10. Cliff Harris – S, 1970-1979

Harris played his entire career during the Dallas Cowboys’ first rise to power. A six-time Pro Bowl and three-time All-Pro selection, Harris was to be inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2020.

9. Jason Witten – TE, 2003-2017, 2019

With over 1,200 receptions for almost 13,000 receiving yards, Witten is in the discussion for best tight ends to ever play the game.

8. Troy Aikman – QB, 1989-2000

Aikman seemed to always be the third wheel of the “Triplets,” however no quarterback won more games in the 90s than he did. His precision passing, toughness in the pocket, and laser focus earned him a gold jacket in 2006.

7. Michael Irvin – WR, 1988-1999

“The Playmaker.” Irvin was the heart of the 1990s Dallas Cowboys. Still, one of the most beloved players to ever have a star on his helmet, Irvin’s career was tragically cut short due to a neck injury just four games into the 1999 season.

6. Roger Staubach – QB, 1969-1979

“Captain America.” Staubach won 75% of the games he played in for the Dallas Cowboys. A two-time Super Bowl champion, Staubach is still on a lot of fans’ shortlist as their all-time favorite Cowboy.

5. Mel Renfro – DB, 1964-1977

Renfro started off his Hall of Fame career with 10 straight Pro Bowl appearances and finished his career as the franchise leader in interceptions.

4. Randy White – DT, 1975-1988

“The Manster.” White was an absolute beast along the defensive line. Earning nine Pro Bowl selections and seven All-Pro nods, White was a slam dunk selection for the Hall of Fame in 1994.

3. Larry Allen – OL, 1994-2006

Quite possibly the most athletically gifted, strongest man to ever play on the offensive line, Allen would have been a Hall of Fame player at either guard or tackle. For the Dallas Cowboys, he played both positions so well he tallied 11 Pro Bowl nominations and made six All-Pro teams during his career.

2. Bob Lilly – DL, 1961-1974

Lilly was to the defensive line what Allen was to the offensive line thirty years before Allen’s time. Lilly bested Allen’s All-Pro total by one while compiling the same number of Pro Bowl’s on his way to the Hall of Fame.

1. Emmitt Smith – RB, 1990-2002

The league’s all-time leading rusher. Smith was also the first running back to win a rushing title and a Super Bowl ring in the same season. Smith was the soul of the “Triplets.”
