Kellen Mond, QB –  Texas A&M

Early projections on Kellen Mond have him anywhere as a first-round sleeper to a third-round pick. That will depend on how he performs as a senior with the Aggies.

In 34 games thus far, Mond has thrown for 7,379 total yards, 52 touchdowns and 24 interceptions. As a junior, he passed for 2,897 yards, 20 touchdowns and 9 interceptions. He’s also a legitimate dual-threat quarterback having 1,315 rushing yards and 18 touchdowns under his collegiate belt.

Mond has a very strong arm, capable of making any throw. But he’s not the most accurate, averaging just 57.8 percent completion percentage in his college career.

However, he has improved that during each season and last year as a junior he posted his best completion percentage at 61.6 percent. If he can clean up his mechanics and improve is accuracy, Mond could prove himself a capable starter in the NFL one day.

Very few project him as an early pick in the draft but Dak Prescott didn’t get drafted until the fourth round, so let’s not give up on Mond just yet. I wouldn’t like throwing him to the wolves as a rookie but a few years on the bench could help with his development. Unfortunately, if the Cowboys lose Prescott, time wouldn’t be on Mond’s side.
