Jamie Newman, QB – Georgia

Jamie Newman is probably the most intriguing quarterback in the NFL Draft, if only for his college path. Newman enters Georgia as a graduate transfer from Wake Forest where he threw for 2,868 yards, 26 touchdowns and 11 interceptions.

Newman comes from a slow mesh RPO offense so it will be interesting to see how he adjusts to Georgia’s pro-style offense. He’ll be playing with some top tier talent so he could benefit from that alone.

Newman has been knocked for his consistency, arm accuracy and pre-snap decision-making. He’ll have one more season to develop and improve under head coach Kirby Smart and offensive coordinator Todd Monken.

Newman has the talent. He’s got the athleticism. But he’s still raw. Georgia developed Jake Fromm into a pro-ready quarterback and there’s a possibility they can do the same with Newman. I think it’ll be a rough transition year if he steps into the starting role as a rookie in Dallas but he’s got tremendous potential.
