Brock Purdy, QB – Iowa State

In two seasons with the Iowa State Cyclones, Brock Purdy has thrown for 6,232 yards, 43 touchdowns and 16 interceptions.

Granted, this comes in the Big 12 which isn’t exactly known for its defense but Purdy can ball. He’s a tough competitor with great athleticism (16 rushing touchdowns) and a solid 6-1, 210-pound frame.

Purdy isn’t a “scrambling” quarterback but he’s athletic enough to avoid pressure and make a play when things fall apart. Unfortunately, he sometimes relies too much on his athletic ability and becomes a bit too impatient, resulting in costly turnovers, which is why he has drawn comparisons to Baker Mayfield.

He’s only entering his junior season and another year developing under Matt Campbell should give us a better idea as to where he stands should he decide to declare for the draft. Purdy is an exciting quarterback with dual-threat potential.

Dak Prescott doesn’t run as much as Lamar Jackson, but he’s been known to come up with a clutch run every now and then. Purdy could do the same.
