5 Cowboys who will miss cancelled preseason games the most
C, Tyler Biadasz
The Dallas Cowboys have a question mark at the center position and drafted Tyler Biadasz in the fourth-round to help shore that out. It’s not a question mark as to who will start, but as how will things pan out.
Joe Looney is expected to return as the starter, filling in for Travis Frederick once again. Back in 2018, Looney filled in the spot as Frederick was battling Guillain Barre disease.
In that same season, quarterback Dak Prescott was sacked 56 times. The last time the Dallas Cowboys gave up close to that many sacks was back in 2005 when quarterback Drew Bledsoe was sacked 49 times.
There is no way that Jerry Jones and McCarthy are going to forget about that. For this reason, Biadasz has a very realistic shot at taking over the starting job from Looney. After all, Looney’s $2.4 million contract is only for one season.
The 21-year-old rookie has a ton going right for him. While being drafted in the fourth round isn’t considered high, he was only the fourth center taken in the draft. Put that with his trophy cabinet, and you have a young prospect that is good today and has a ton of upside.

If the last two preseason games are not canceled, then Biadasz has the opportunity to start the season ahead of Looney, although it is looking like more of a long shot. Taking over during the season is a much more likely possibility.
In his draft year, Biadasz was a first-team All-American, the top center in the nation, a finalist as the top interior lineman, and a first-team All-Big Ten. While the accolades with his name on it won’t hold as much weight at the NFL level, it is still great to have.
With a full preseason, he would have a better shot to start right away. With it limited to a maximum of two games, there isn’t much of a chance. We’ll see if Biadasz takes over midseason, next season, or down the road.
