Darrell Taylor, Edge, Tennessee

The defensive front for the Cowboys has some holes in it. Hopefully pending free agent defensive end Robert Quinn re-signs, but when the Cowboys are on the clock in the later rounds lookout for Darrell Taylor.

Taylor is a freakish athlete at 6-foot-4, 259 lbs. and has some serious bend when it comes to rushing the passer. If Taylor decides he wants to explode up the field it’s tough to match his first step quickness.

The great thing about Taylor is you can plug him in on a 4-3 or 3-4 defensive scheme. In the run game, he is not going to overpower the opposition but he is very well disciplined and sets the edge for his fellow defenders to flow to the football.

The most impressive feature of Taylor’s game is his flexibility to get around corners, but also his lateral mobility at his size, he has the range that can track down ball carriers. With that being said, if he gets near a ball carrier he has some serious pop in his tackling game.
