Michael Pittman Jr., WR, USC
Michael Pittman Jr. is a specimen at wide receiver. Listed at 6-foot-4, 219 lbs. he brings the physicality to the outside of the offense, but don’t underestimate how athletic he is at that size.
Pittman brings the physical nature to the run game and will come up clutch during contested catches. In 2019, Pittman recorded 101 receptions for 1,275 yards and 11 touchdowns.
Pittman understands he is a big target and he plays that way, very rarely did he have any drops at USC and he played bully ball against most defensive backs because he knows they do not want to deal with his size.
Being a bigger receiver Pittman doesn’t try to be crafty, which is what you expect for a player his size. He has great hands and uses his body as an advantage to box out defenders with his massive catch radius, he mauls corners downfield as a blocker, and he is a bruising runner once the ball is in his hands.
The more surprising trait Pittman possesses is his quick feet and ability to track down the football. He understands he is not a burner and defensive backs don’t fear his speed. So, to counter he uses great body position to track, locate and be the first to the football.
