3. When Dak Prescott is forced to be the MVP …

When the terrain gets difficult, Jason Garrett will fold, especially against teams with winning records. Fortunately, the Dallas Cowboys face a 3-5-1 Detroit Lions.

All of your predictions may hinder on whether quarterback Matthew Stafford plays or doesn’t play, but regardless, you’d expect the Cowboys to win this one. But then again, I said the same thing against the New York Jets.

And don’t forget, against teams the Cowboys were supposed to whoop, like the Giants, Jets, and Dolphins, the ‘Boys spent the first two quarters spinning their tires before getting their act together in the third period.

Cowboys Nation, let me have a word on Dak Prescott, the quarterback, and face of this franchise. The reason why the Cowboys have five wins is because of that quarterback. He was three yards shy from a 400-yard game and would have easily got that mark had the Hail Mary was completed to win the Minnesota game.

Dak Prescott is a baller. Let me say that again in all caps. BALLER. Actually, let me say that in caps, bold italic text and underline it for you. BALLER.

When the Cowboys were down 14-0 against the Vikings and the running attack stalled (once again) in the second gear, who took charge and put the team on his back? Dak Prescott did it over and over again in 2019, and nobody else in this entire franchise (including the coaching staff) is more deserving of the team MVP nomination.

The only real belief we have in the Dallas Cowboys going forward is because of the quarterback play. And let me remind you, once again, that this team is built around a running attack and the strength of the offensive linemen.

With that said, how can you feel good about this team’s identity? Are we going to blame the owner and general manager Jerry Jones? I think not. He paid Ezekiel Elliott. He got the running back right into the lineup before the regular season began.

The Dallas Cowboys haven’t shown they have the magic. Instead, Prescott is forced into the spotlight, into the MVP arena, on a team that is oriented for the running game to take center stage. The Cowboys are deeply flawed and are in an uphill battle with an identity crisis. This team’s DNA has no magic, nothing like the 2014 and 2016 squads.

Am I concerned, you may ask me? OMG. Are you not?

Prediction time!

The Dallas Cowboys must win this next game against the Lions. Whether Matthew Stafford plays or not, a bad back for a quarterback is bad news.

Dallas takes this comfortably, 30-17. Jason Garrett and the rest of Big D is staring at some serious competition down the line, so they have to take this game.

Next up is a game in New England to face the Patriots. Then it’s a home game with the Buffalo Bills, a trip to Chicago, the Rams at home and finally a battle with the Eagles in Philadelphia. So yeah, I got the Cowboys over the Lions.
