Are the Dallas Cowboys a Super Bowl team or just a playoff team?
Playoff Team Continued …
In December Dallas is going to Chicago to play the Bears, going back to Dallas to play the Los Angeles Rams, then going to Philly to play the Eagles, and finishing the season home against the Washington Redskins.
The Bears came into the season looking like they had the best defense in the league. As far as team defense they are ninth in passing yards and fifth in rushing yards. That’s still really good, but when the team can’t put up points you can’t win.
The Bears offense is 29th in total yards per game and 27th in points per game. Only three teams have scored and gave up more than 20 points against Chicago this season. Even though Dallas likely could eclipse 20 points, they won’t need to if they are going to win.
With that win, Dallas would be 9-4, then lining up against the Rams. LA has revamped its defense and has been looking quite good offensively. In a close matchup, I would give an edge to the Rams but it could go either way.
With two games left in the season, Dallas is 9-5. They play the Redskins and the Eagles, both division rivals.
The Cowboys are a perfect 4-0 against teams in their division. Because of this, a tie-breaker will be in the Cowboys’ favor.
A win over the Redskins is expected, and a win over the Eagles is very likely especially since receiver DeSean Jackson is out for the rest of the season. Coming into the season I thought Dallas would win one and Philly would win one.
Jackson’s status and the streaky play of the Eagles give me confidence Dallas can win the second meeting. The Cowboys’ record would then be 6-0 against division rivals, and 11-5 for the season,
With that, I would expect Dallas to win the division. Mainly because Philly would need to finish the season undefeated and beat both the Patriots and the Seattle Seahawks.
