Hit the ground running

After serving a two-game suspension as a result of a performance-enhancing violation. There was some uncertainty about how much of an impact he would have when he took the field. Well, let’s just say he hit the ground running.

In Week 3 against the Miami Dolphins, his former team, Quinn immediately made an impact. He had 1.0 sack and three solo tackles. Even when he didn’t get the sack, he made sure his presence was felt as he got four hurries.

I wouldn’t consider this a huge unbelievable performance, but it is one where he did make a big impact. This would not be the only game where his presence would be felt.

Quinn has a sack in every game he played except the loss against the Green Bay Packers in Week 5. In five games he has six sacks. Stretch that out over a 16-game season and he would have 19.0 sacks. That would have placed second in the league last season.

Quinn has also done a good job of getting in the way of the quarterbacks throws. So far he has three passes defended. He is finding a variety of different ways to make an impact for the Dallas Cowboys.

He has not forced a fumble yet this season, but considering he has in every season in his career and the number of times he is getting to the quarterback, it is only a matter of time.
