5. Ezekiel Elliott is standing short at 491 rushing yards.

In six games, Elliott owns 630 yards from the line of scrimmage so far in 2019. In six games so far, he has been part of 260 snap counts. In 2018, the number was way up at 890 snap counts in 15 regular-season games.

I said it before, and I’ll say it again: The 24-year old is the most talented member on this roster. Some say he doesn’t look the same. That he has lost a step. That Cabo, Mexico messed with his head a bit.

Regardless of the situation, if the most talented player on your team isn’t thriving after six games as he should, where are the motivators?

6. Jerry Jones gave Zeke a six-year, $90 million contract extension.

For a change, I have no blame for the owner and general manager, Jerry Jones. Yes, that’s me, on the record saying I got no flames for Jerry Jones. In fact, I credit him.

Look, if the Zeke deal wasn’t done, the world would be up in arms saying that the money master couldn’t muster up a deal for the star running back. For all the wrong going around Big D, you simply cannot place blame on Jerry Jones for the 2019 season. He has assembled all the parts together.

But…

7. Jerry Jones knows how to make this right. But will he fire the .500 coach?

Folks, the Dallas Cowboys aren’t going anywhere with coach Jason Garrett at the helm. The real question is when will Garrett go. The Dallas Cowboys have supposedly assembled a deep roster but essentially iced the cake with stale cherries on top.

Garrett has no contract in 2020. How much more does Jerry Jones need to see?
