On to the here and now.

The Giants and Cowboys used to always produce high drama. After all, there is a reason it has been a staple of the NFL Week 1 schedule for the better part of the last decade.

In recent times, however, it has been more one sided.

The Cowboys have won the last four, three of which have been by a touchdown or more. In fact, Dallas has lost just twice to New York with Prescott and Elliott as the Cowboys backfield tandem.

Those two losses totaled just four points.

The talent level for both teams is decidedly different. The Cowboys have one of the most talented rosters in all of football. The Giants reside on the other side of the spectrum.

The Giants biggest weaknesses come along their offensive and defensive lines. Both of those units are strengths for the Cowboys.

For the Giants, their only hope is that their best player, running back Saquon Barkley, has a monster game. Last season Dallas did well at containing him, save for one 68-yard scamper.

If you remove that one big play, Barkley gained just 2.6 yards per carry on 27 attempts.

The Cowboys should have no problem starting the 2019 season 1-0. Vegas seems to agree as only two other teams are projected to win by more than the seven points Dallas is favored.

Next. The all-time best defenders to wear the Star. dark

Give me the Cowboys over the Giants 31-13.

Zeke scores a touchdown but does not eclipse 100 yards. Prescott throws for three with Cooper, Gallup and Jason Witten all on the receiving end.
