#3 – David Montgomery, RB – Iowa State

Montgomery would be the most expensive player here considering Dallas won’t be able to get him past the 4th round as he’s most likely he’s going to go in rounds two or three.

However, Montgomery is really a great value-Christian McCaffrey. And while starting running back Ezekiel Elliott is no slouch in the passing game, Montgomery offers true and real elusiveness in the passing game outside. The combination of the two would put together would look something like the New Orleans Saints have with running backs Alvin Kamara and Mark Ingram. But better.

Yes, Montgomery would cost a lot to bring in. But if Dallas can sure up some holes in free agency, they might be able to spend a Top 120 pick on him with little hesitation.

The Cowboys offense is a long way from being one of the NFL’s best, we know that. However, with a modern quarterback like Dak Prescott under center combined with playmakers like Cooper, Gallup and Elliott; there is no reason, with the proper additions and playcalling, Dallas can’t rise to the top of the league.

I truly think with an addition of one of these three players, or someone like them, it would be on the right track for the Dallas Cowboys to get there. Do you agree? Tell us in the comment section below.
