DEFENSIVE LINE:

DE Tony Tolbert – Super stats: 3 games, 3 wins, 2 sacks, 1 fumble recovery.
DT Randy White – Super stats: 2 games, 1 wins, 4 sacks, co-MVP of Super Bowl XII.
DT Harvey Martin – Super stats: 3 games, 1 win, 3 sacks, co-MVP of Super Bowl XII.
DE Charles Haley – Super stats: 3 games, 3 wins, 2.5 sacks.

Tolbert may be the only shock of the group but those who saw his play, especially in the first matchup with Buffalo remember he was a problem all game for the Bills right tackle.

White and Martin were shoo-in’s given their MVP hardware while most members of those 90’s teams will point to Haley as the reason they became a great team instead of a good one.

LINEBACKERS:

Chuck Howley – Super stats: 2 games, 1 win, three interceptions, 1 fumble recovery.
Ken Norton – Super stats: 2 games, 2 wins, 1 fumble recovery for touchdown.
D.D. Lewis – Super stats: 5 games, 2 wins, 1 sack, 1 interception.

Lewis is the only Dallas Cowboys linebacker to register both a sack and interception on the biggest stage. He also ties for most appearances. Norton was the glue on those 90’s teams that dominated one of the best offenses in NFL history in back-to-back games. Howley is the only player to ever win the MVP and play for a losing team.

DEFENSIVE BACKS:

CB Larry Brown – Super stats: 3 games, 3 wins, 3 interceptions, MVP of Super Bowl XXX.
CB Mel Renfro – Super stats: 3 games, 2 wins, 1 interception.
FS James Washington – Super stats: 2 games, 2 wins, 2 interceptions, 1 fumble recovery for touchdown
SS Thomas Everett – Super stats: 2 games, 2 wins, 1 sack, 2 interceptions.

Brown is best remembered for being in the right place at the right time as the defensive front’s pressure on Pittsburgh quarterback Neil O’Donnell led to two gift picks for him and earned him MVP.

Washington’s turnovers kept the Cowboys in their Super Bowl rematch with Buffalo in 1993 until the offense woke up and dominated the second half of that game. Everett joins Lewis as the only other player to register both a sack and interception on the biggest stage.
