Time for change

This game, this season and likely the future of coaches and possibly the quarterback will all hinge on the ability to change.

Whatever the offensive philosophy is, it’s not working. There is blame to be passed around but it ultimately comes down to how quarterback Dak Prescott performs.

You can win with average quarterback play IF you have a dominant run game and/or a dominant defense. The Cowboys supposedly have the former and are working on the latter.

The problem is that it is hard to be dominant at running the football when (a) you only give your star rusher 15 carries and (b) the defense isn’t threatened at all by your passing game.

Prescott has nine games in his last seventeen with under 200 yards passing. In six of his last nine games, he has failed to throw a touchdown pass. In today’s NFL, that’s unheard of.

The offensive coordinator and the head coach are openly under fire for these failures. Another poor offensive performance tonight will only intensify this heat. It’s not easy to change things midseason but things must change soon or else this season will be lost sooner than you think.
