The ball, the ball, the ball!

Offensively, the Dallas Cowboys should win this game if they just protect the football.

Dak Prescott has 22 career games with no interceptions. The Cowboys are 19-3 in those games. On the flip side, he has six career games with two or more interceptions. Dallas is just 1-5 in those contests.

With a 50% chance of rain, being extra cautious with the ball will be key. One way to do so is to rely on the rushing attack.

Just like with Prescott being focused on ball protection, the success rate for the Cowboys is sky high when Ezekiel Elliott gets the ball often. Dallas is 15-3 in games where Elliott rushes for 90+ yards. The Cowboys are 7-1 when he gets 25 or more carries.

Elliott is, by far and away, the Cowboys best player. I’m sure Carolina will focus on him which will allow Dak to do his thing and find one-on-one matchups.

What the Cowboys cannot do is allow Carolina to “take away” Elliott from the game plan. Protect the football, give Elliott a ton of work and get after Cam and Dallas will win this game. Can they do all three of those things? I’m betting they can.

Prediction:

Cowboys 24, Panthers 13
