The Carolina Panthers offensive line took a beating this preseason. On Sunday the Panthers placed left tackle Matt Kalil on injured reserve keeping him out for at least the first eight weeks of the season.
The injuries do not stop there, however, as starting right tackle Daryl Williams and guard/tackle Amini Silatolu are both battling back from injuries and may not be ready to play this Sunday. If this is the case, it would be a huge win for Dallas, as they would be going up against an almost all backup offensive line.
Luckily for the Cowboys, their defensive line has looked outstanding this season and seems very likely to take advantage of the beat-up Panthers offensive line. With Demarcus Lawrence back after a Pro Bowl season and Randy Gregory back in the fold the Dallas pass rush is dangerous and will be the biggest key this Sunday.
If the Cowboys can keep constant pressure on Cam Newton all day long they should be able to come out of Carolina with a win. This game may very well come down to can the Panthers backups on the line step up, or will the Dallas defense cause havoc for Cam Newton and the Panthers offense.
Prediction: Cowboys 23 Panthers 17
The Dallas defense is able to take advantage of the weak, beat up Carolina offensive line and gets to Cam Newton recording four sacks. Dak Prescott, Ezekiel Elliott, and the offense start out slow against a tough Panthers defense, but the running game eventually prevails and Dallas pulls out a nice win in week one.
