Tight End

Nick O’Leary – Trade with the Buffalo Bills

Nick O’Leary is a forgotten man up in Buffalo. As the backup to he is primarily used as a blocking tight end. He has shown flashes of being a passing game threat. O’Leary’s ability to block is what the Cowboys would be interested in. With four tight ends currently on their roster and none of them proving they can holding up blocking the Cowboys will need to find one outside of the team.

Dwayne Allen – Trade with the New England Patriots

Dwayne Allen is a good blocking tight end that is underrated in the passing game. As I said before the Cowboys need to find a reliable blocking tight end and Allen fits the bill. He currently battling younger tight ends but the main reason for his potential departure from the team is his high cap number of $5 million. If he doesn’t take a pay cut the Cowboys may have a chance at getting him.

Safety

Earl Thomas – Trade with the Seattle Seahawks

The main reason that Earl Thomas shows up on this list is the hamstring injury to Xavier Woods. Woods battled hamstring issues last year and now that it has come up again it’s time for the Cowboys to pull the trigger on a trade for Thomas. He knows the defense and would immediately become a leader of that young secondary.

Eric Reid – Free Agent signing

Eric Reid is more of a strong safety but the Cowboys injuries and lack of depth at the position should cause this move. If Reid is willing to stand for the national anthem as he said he would then I don’t see a reason why the Cowboys wouldn’t bring him in to help solidify this secondary.
