The Eagles defensive back unit has quite possibly the perfect mixture of very good veterans and promising young talent.
Darby and Mills have both been in the league for three years or less. They play with a young man’s aggression and confidence from just not knowing any better. McLeod and Jenkins have been around since 2012 and 2009, respectively, bringing the know-it-all savvy that veterans need to have. All five are very talented although not quite on that upper echelon level.
Add to that the wild card of Sidney Jones, last year’s second round pick who essentially red-shirted in 2017 coming off of a torn Achilles.
In a lot of ways, they are just a better version of what the Cowboys unit has to offer. If this unit lacks anything, it is the one major star that brings fear to opposing offenses. The last team to evaluate has that guy and with it, the gold medal.
