Dallas Cowboys young secondary not yet beasts of NFC East
By Tyrone Starr
Washington Redskins (no medal)
Orlando Scandrick, Josh Norman, Fabian Moreau, Deshazor Everett, DJ Swearinger, Quinton Dunbar, Troy Apke, Montae Nicholson
Any team with Josh Norman in the fray is hard to list as the worst group within their own division but one man is not an army. Norman is likely one of the ten best cornerbacks in the game. Aside from his actual physical skill, his best attribute may be his ability to engage in mental warfare.

Over the last two years, he has clearly proven to be capable of getting under the skin of Giants receiver Odell Beckham, Jr. In two games head-to-head versus Odell, Norman was able to keep him out of the end zone with just 12 catches.
He also was able to establish an ongoing battle with former Cowboys receiver Dez Bryant. In four head-to-head matchups, Dez only saw the end zone once and was held under 100 yards three times.
Beyond Norman, however, it gets a little more murky. Swearinger is a big hitter at the safety spot but he is not a disciplined cover type. Scandrick’s best days are likely behind him and Moreau is a complete unknown after a very quiet rookie campaign.
Everett and Dunbar would be best suited for back up duty, however both see a lot more action than they should.
The presence of Norman almost earned them a medal but, ultimately, I had to reward overall depth and talent over the star power of one individual.
