Dallas Cowboys linebacking corps: From paupers to princes?
By Tyrone Starr
Philadelphia Eagles (no medal)
Nigel Bradham, Jordan Hicks, Nathan Gerry, Kamu Grugier-Hill, Joe Walker, Corey Nelson, Asantay Brown
This unit was already looking a little then before the surprise release of Mychal Kendricks. It is true that he was unhappy and did ask for a trade. Still when you need talent and depth as badly as Philadelphia does, letting an accomplished player just go for nothing seems odd.
As it pertains to those wearing green, Jordan Hicks would have to be considered the top dog. The issue for him, however is clearly health.
In three seasons, he has just 31 total games under his belt. It is often said the best ability is availability. Talent means little when you’re missing your helmet and pads.
Bradham is a solid veteran, although he has only eclipsed 100 tackles twice in six years and does not produce turnovers.
Simply put, the Eagles have a great front, a solid back end but are soft in the middle. Maybe the other units can pick up the slack but these linebackers could be problematic in 2018.
