Dak Prescott – Dallas Cowboys (bronze medal)

This hurts to say, but as of this very moment, it’s the right thing to do. I pondered heavily at putting Wentz here instead given his ACL injury but there is one reason I have him over Prescott.

Trajectory.

If this was 2016, Prescott would be above Wentz without question in my book. Both were rookies that year, but Prescott clearly had the better initiation to the NFL.

After their sophomore seasons, however Wentz, without question, took round two.

Seemingly nothing went right for the Dallas Cowboys in 2017. The constant cloud over their heads regarding Ezekiel Elliott and his on again/off again suspension took its toll. Maybe that is part of the explanation as to why Prescott regressed.

It could be coaching as well as Wentz was paired with a new coach in 2017 that really elevated his game.

Questions always seem to swirl around whether the tandem of Jason Garrett & Scott Linehan are worthy of their positions.

Whatever the reason, since Prescott lost round two, he enters 2018 as the third best quarterback in the NFC East.
