Round 3, Pick # 81
Michael Gallup, WR – Colorado State

Pros

Production.  In two seasons, Gallup went for 1,000+ yards back-to-back and totaled 21 touchdowns.  He’s more of a football player instead of a workout warrior.  He played great in games against top competition.  Gallup’s athletic ability helps him win 50/50 type scenarios.

Cons

All of his measurables are just slightly above average.  He does not possess elite size or speed.  He is not a route technician as of yet and often relies too much on physical ability.

Final Analysis

This might be my favorite pick of the entire draft for the Dallas Cowboys.  The timing (round three as opposed to round one) was perfect.

At worst, this was the second best pick of the entire round.  There was heavy interest in Courtland Sutton but I think Gallup will be a better pro.  Gallup was very productive in college and should only improve at his craft at the next level.
