#5 – To pick or not pick a receiver — that is the question!

I’m intrigued with taking a receiver in the first round. Don’t get me wrong. Calvin Ridley. D.J. Moore. Sure!

But, wait…

I think the Cowboys need to figure out the Dez Bryant situation first.

If he’ll take a pay cut, then 88 deserves to suit up and show what he has. Instead of using a premier pick on WR one, Dallas can use that resource for another need. And yes, we have many. The Cowboys aren’t a pick or two away from the Eagles — but you knew that right?

Though I’ve mentioned before that the Cowboys are probably better moving on from the wideout, there are still parameters to keep him. For one, his salary. Two, trade options are difficult considering his current contract. And three, Dez Bryant may have lost a step on the ground and in the air, but he still has gas at 29 years young.

Plus, Dez Bryant’s devoted to patching his weaknesses. Is that all enough to sway Dallas away from picking up a rookie receiver?

Man, I don’t know. Did someone say, Calvin?
